A silent night,
A broken heart,
Lo! Cries and wails,
The lover's heart.
No tears left,
No words expressed,
Feelings dead,
A soul distressed.
A walking dead,
Unable to die,
Walks the path,
Withered and dried,
On stones and thorns,
Bleeds and mourns,
Goes on and on,
In the silent night.
The lifeless gaze,
A tale narrates,
Of love and love,
Of kept un-kept,
Of the truces made,
And those which fade,
Over course of time,
In the pages of life.
No words! O dear,
No signs, none made,
Nor a simple gesture,
Of the eyes or lips,
Just a silent night,
A lifeless gaze,
The withering heart,
And the walking dead.
